It is the type of question I get most often. Who are these characters? What makes them the way they are? What happened to them in their past that makes them who they are today?
These are difficult questions to answer for a few reasons. First, as an author you don't want to give too much away. Second, more than anything, I want my stories to spark your imagination. I want you to conjure up a visual of what you think they might look like. And, with the details I provide in the book, I want you to think about what might have made them the way they are. And lastly, it's partly hard to answer because I don't really know. Today, I am who I am because of the sum total of my experiences over a lifetime. Thinking about a lifetime of experiences for each of the made up people is a bit overwhelming.
I get asked about Clio most often. She's a complicated lady so I will reserve comment for now and maybe feature her in an upcoming post. For now, I will focus on the guys - and not even all of the guys - and not all of them in one post. That would be too much to digest. So, Logan James. He was the first character I developed for the book. I am often asked if he is my 'dream guy'? I can answer no (I already got my dream guy, thank you very much) but, I will say that he is pretty dreamy. I know what he looks like since I made him up, but I won't get into that because I want you to picture him as your own dreamy guy.
As far as the kind of person he is. I envision him as the loyal guy who will do anything for those he cares for. He is brave but not brazen, confident but not cocky and someone who is pretty go with the flow. I think he is patient and used to getting what he wants. He is one of those guys who goes from through the evolution of being the handsome party boy to the dedicated significant other. Logan is also stubborn, sees things as very black and white, and is quite inspirational to others.
He's one of my favorites (that's a silly thing to say as they are all my favorites in some way, shape or form). I hope you will join us on The Road to. . . and get to know Logan and the others.
